Adventures in Baby Land

Finally, with two weeks to spare, we have everything ready in Landry’s room!!  It was a long process finding everything that I wanted to use in our little boy’s room.  Now I can finally relax.  Our bags are packed and baby’s outfits are picked out for the hospital. Here are some pictures of his room and some special things people gave us to make his room special…

First, here are the letters that I spray painted and my mom and I hot glued them to twine and hung them on little cloth covered spools.  I think it turned out perfectly! Also, the little corner shelf came from an antique mall and matched the furniture just perfectly.  We have lots of books and antique cars displayed on his little shelf.

Here are some other pictures of things around his room and the little shelves that Mike and my dad hung.

Thanks to my friend Tamra for making this diaper wreath to hang at the hospital when Landry is born.

And finally, the glider…my in-laws so graciously gave me one of their gliders and Yomaida, Silvia, and I decided to paint it.  It was quite the process.  It was a billion degrees in our garage and I was hot and sweaty.  We spray painted it blue and painted over it with a tan color that matched the stripes in his room.  The idea was to sand down the paint so you could see a little of the blue underneath.  However, because Yomaida is such an expert painter after hours of sanding you still couldn’t see the blue paint.  Here are the beginnings of our madness

In the end, my mom and I added several other colors to the glider to get the perfect “distressed” look.  Then we were going to recover the cushions to be a navy blue but in the end we left them the way they were.  They actually match the blues in the room and I must say that I am happy with how it turned out.

Taaa daa…

Now that everything is ready we are just eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little guy!  Here are just a couple more pictures of the little outfits we picked out to take to the hospital with Landry.  They could potentially be picture outfits or coming home outfits.  I can’t wait to dress him all up and post more pics of him!

Maternity Pics and Baby E

A double post since I haven’t posted in awhile.  First, some super adorable maternity pics that my good friend Yomaida took.  She is a fantastic photographer and has quite a gift.  In fact, she has done several Christmas cards for us and hopefully soon she will be able to take newborn pics and announcements for little Landry!  She has a really cute blog if anyone needs pictures taken please check her out: http://yomaida-capturing-memories.blogspot.com/.

Yomaida was even willing to get up early one Saturday morning and meet us in beautiful downtown McKinney.  I will say we had a great time despite the humidity and Y kept us laughing the whole time.  I wish I had pictures of her taking pictures, it was quite a site. Smile There were a few times when she fell off of her stool, did the splits in the middle of the street, and even laid flat on her stomach to get a good shot.  Like I said, she’s the best!  She would take us to random places that you would never think would make a good picture like in an alley, against a torn down building and even at a little magic shop.  I think I was about 20 weeks along so the bump isn’t huge but definitely adorable.  Enjoy…

And in other news…Welcome to the world my precious nephew Easton Rocky Fallwell.

For the next couple of weeks I can definitely say that he is the cutest little thing I have ever laid eyes on.  He is such a doll and a great baby.  He is already a good sleeper and keeps all of us entertained.  Here are some of my favorite little pics that I snapped during my visit with Matt, Jamie and Easton!

4D Sonogram

Mike and I were able to experience one of the most incredible things ever this weekend!!!  For Christmas, my mom and dad gave us a gift card to have a 4D sonogram session.  This weekend they came for a visit and along with the 2 of them, Mike and I and his parents headed off to Stork Vision in Frisco.  We had a 15 minute sono session that included several printed pictures, a CD with all of the pictures and a DVD for us to take home.  It was SO amazing that words can hardly explain.  I got to see my baby boy look so real and so much like a baby and not just a black and white “I think I see what you’re pointing at” thing on an itty bitty screen.

I know that I am bias, because he’s my child, but he was the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on.  As I laid there on the table I could hardly see through all of the tears as I thought about how wonderful the Lord has been to me and how much he has blessed Mike and I over the past year.  This has been the most amazing journey so far and as much as I love being pregnant and having Landry with me all of the time and feeling him kick, I can hardly wait to experience the feeling of holding him in my arms.  This 4D sonogram experience made it so real for me.  Once you see the following pictures you will understand why.  He is going to be one beautiful baby!!!

BABY_6

The 1st picture she took was the regular sonogram but if you tilt your head to the right you should be able to see his little face looking at you.

Yes that is his foot that is crammed up there beside his ear…I just can’t get over how sweet that little nose is!!

He was such a sleepy little boy, he yawned several times and even stuck his tongue out for us.  I can’t wait to kiss those precious little lips as soon as he gets here.

And last but not least, my very favorite picture.  Such a sweet little precious baby and I can’t believe he is all mine.  In just a few short months I will be able to post pictures of Landry’s precious little face while I’m holding him in my arms!!  I can not imagine what that will feel like!

Also, here is a short video that they gave us on our DVD.  Here is Little Landry’s first yawn.  He was definitely wide awake that day but I guess a little sleepy.  He moved and wiggled, and kicked, and yawned the entire time.

Thanks Mom and Dad, I could not have asked for a better present.  I love you both!!!

29 Weeks

Holy Cow, I can’t believe it has already been 29 weeks!  I only have 77 more days until my due date.  I have mixed emotions when thinking about the time I have left.  I can hardly wait for my baby boy to get here but I am really enjoying being pregnant.  Maybe it’s because I waited so long to get pregnant or that I haven’t been sick and it’s been pretty easy.  I really think I was just cut out for this pregnancy thing, I LOVE IT!!!  It has been nothing but a wonderful experience.  Here’s a picture of my growing belly and some prego updates…
