13 Weeks

I can hardly believe that 13 weeks of pregnancy have already past.  It is going by so fast.  I will say that I don’t miss the morning/all day sickness and the total exhaustion.  They are finally passing!  Now I am just loving every minute of this journey.  I think about baby all of the time and it is usually the topic of conversation wherever I go.  It’s such a special feeling knowing that you are taking care of a baby and that baby is growing and moving and developing into a little human being all inside of me.  I can’t imagine anything more special in life.

I feel happier than I have in a couple of years.  I think Mike appreciates finally having his wife back.  The wife that is happy and excited by the little things in life again.  I tried my best to be happy and enjoy all of the alone time I have had with Mike over the last 7 years but the last 2 years have been rough.  Constant doctor visits and discouraging news can become a beat down.  But enough of all that, let’s move on to the good stuff.

I have started showing a little bump in the last couple of weeks!  Several people commented on my growing belly this week and it made me feel so special.  My bff Yomaida also brought me TONS of super cute maternity clothes that she had been saving for me to borrow. I must post pictures later of the 4 pairs of pants, 1 skirt, 4 dresses, and 21 tops. Can you believe it!?!  I am blessed with great friends.

Also, I bought my first few maternity pieces yesterday (thank you Shawn)!! My sweet friend stopped by the Gap and put several things on hold for me.  So of course I rushed over there on my way home from school. What fun that was for me to try on all of these cute maternity clothes and know that pretty soon they will be stretched to the max.  I had a blast while Mike stood in the corner and played Angry Birds. Secretly I know that he is loving every minute of this experience too.  He has been so precious.  He is so willing to do anything and everything that I need or want just for baby.  From late night milkshake or orange juice runs to cooking dinner every night, he has just been SO precious. I know that he will make an amazing daddy.  I can hardly wait to see him in action.

Well, I was just reading my best friend Kristy’s blog, who is also prego, and she had the cutest little weekly updates.  So, I think I will borrow her idea and start my own weekly updates.  Enjoy!!!

Christmas 2010

I love the holidays.  I just can’t get enough of them.  They just seem to always go by way too fast.  This year was an extra special Christmas because my little sis and I are both pregnant.  As expected, my parents are just over the moon.  They have been talking about grandbabies forever and then to have two a few months apart is crazy. Needless to say they have the baby fever.  We got TONS of baby stuff, already.

Right after Christmas my sis found out she is having a boy!  Lucky for us, Mom, Dad, Mike and I had already gone shopping that morning and picked out the perfect boy and girl outfits to surprise the happy couple when they came over.  We waited until we found out it was a baby boy and wrapped all the baby boy clothes up.  (We saved the girl clothes just in case….fingers crossed)

Matt and Jamie are SO excited, they really wanted a boy!  I’m SO happy for them both.  Mike and I on the other hand can not agree.  He wants a boy and I of course want a girl.  Honestly though, as long as they are healthy and perfect, I will take what the Lord gives me.  We got some sweet little onsies, socks, pacifiers, blankets, and some other special things just for Mike.

Not to worry though, my sister-in-law bought some cute little OU stuff that baby really will wear!!!

Well, Christmas always reminds me of family and the fun we always have.  Mike and I are both so blessed to have such amazing families.  Here are a few more of my favs from the Holidays…

The Story of Us

I never would have considered myself a "blogger" but for some reason I'm really looking forward to starting one.  Thanks to my sweet friend Yomaida for creating this beautiful blog for me!!  I can't think of a better place to keep all of my precious memories and be able to share our lives with family and friends.
Anyway, here is a little bit about the story of us...It all started on the first day of my sophomore year in college.  I saw this guy walking to class and I knew I wanted to meet him.  After doing a little bit of research and finding out his name I couldn't wait to meet him.  I remember calling my mom, before I ever even spoke to this guy, to tell her that I found the man I knew I would marry.  Needless to say, we finally met, (no thanks to Mike, I had to ask him out the first time) and eventually married in the summer of 2005.

Look how young and innocent we were.

Shortly after we moved back to my hometown to settle down and start a family.  Well things didn't go according to MY plan.  Don't get me wrong, I am very blessed.  I have the best husband, a wonderful house, two precious dogs, and my husband and I teach at the same school.  Everything came SO easy for us until we decided to start a family.
I have always been a planner so I had our baby plans all laid out for us.  I knew when we were going to start trying, when I wanted the baby to be born, and every other detail in between.  But, like I said earlier, things didn't go according to MY plan.  However, after a long and emotional journey of infertility issues, friends and family members sharing their exciting baby news, shots, pills and doctor's appointments we decided to try other options.  We took a month off to think about our options and try to de-stress for the holidays.  To our surprise, we got a call from the doctor, on my birthday, to let us know that we were going to be parents.  Can you believe it!?!  It is still a little surreal to me but still amazing.  It truly is a miracle from God.

Here is our little miracle.

I read a quote once that said, "God is never late. He is seldom early. He is always right on time."  Such a simple quote but how real it has become to me.  I have prayed for a child for the last 3 years but I wanted it to be on my schedule and in my time.  Once I was able to let go I realized that God had a plan and it would happen in his time.  Granted, it was not easy to wait for his timing, in fact it was at times heart wrenching.  But waiting for God's timing has brought the greatest joy to my life.  I am now 10 weeks along and counting down the days until my next sonogram so I can see my baby again.  AND, not only am I going to be a mommy but I also get to experience the joys of pregnancy along side my little sister.  Our kiddos will only be 2 months apart.

Anyway, I promise not to ramble on and on in every post and as soon as I learn how to use my new Christmas present I promise to add more pictures!
