1 Week Photo Shoot

Oops, how could I have forgotten to post Landry’s one week photo shoot?  Once again, my favorite photographer and good friend Yomaida came over the week Landry was born to have a little photo session with our little man.  She even brought a delicious homemade Mexican dinner (thank you to her mom).

At first Landry wasn’t too thrilled about posing for pics but after filling his belly he was more cooperative.  His daddy said it was because he was “milk drunk.”  Here are some gorgeous shots that Yomaida took.  Thanks YE for capturing such precious memories for us to cherish.

I think these two are my very favorites!

Yomaida even took pictures of my sister’s little boy Easton.  Check out how handsome this little man is too!

Coming soon, we had 6 week pictures taken a couple of weeks ago with cousin Easton!  Hopefully I will get those soon!

Oh how time flies

I can’t believe that it has been 8 weeks since we brought our little man home from the hospital.  In a way it seems like a lifetime ago but when I look at him I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by.  This has been the greatest few months ever!  My baby boy is absolutely precious and just SO perfect.  I don’t know how I will function when I have to go back to work in just two short weeks. Sad smile I can’t even think about that right now.

Anyway, little man has grown so much in just these few weeks.  He has gained some weight, almost up to 9 lbs. and has grown to almost 20 inches.  His little belly is starting to poke out and I love dressing him in just his little diaper and a tee so you can see his little belly.  His hair is getting longer and is lightening up to blonde.  I think he looks like his daddy but some say he is looking more like me.

Here are some of my most favorite things about my little man right now:

  • The sweet little sigh that you make after you sneeze
  • The way you are all smiles when you wake up
  • The way you purr like a baby kitty in your sleep
  • The way you toot yourself awake from a good nap every now and then
  • The way you snuggle with me and hang on to my shirt with a death grip
  • The way that only I can calm you down when nothing else makes you happy
  • The way you smile and sometimes giggle in your sleep
  • The little mouth wide open grunt you make when you think you are starving
  • The way you will laugh at me when we play with your paci
  • The way you smell so sweet after a nice warm bath
  • The way you hold your head up and let it bob around like a little turtle
  • The way you love your play mat and kick lick crazy when the toy’s move around
  • The way you melt my heart every time I look, see, touch, and think about you

I feel like the luckiest mommy in the world.  I love you little Lan Man!   Here is my little man all smiles after a nap.

Football Saturdays

I love college football Saturdays! It's so much fun to get together with friends, eat lots of junk, and root for your favorite teams. Football Saturdays also remind me that Fall is on the way! I love when the weather cools off and we can leave the windows open and let the cool air blow in. That's real football weather!
Well, the little man really enjoys football days too. Daddy gets to be home all day & there's always plenty of people to entertain him

The last few weekends we have had him all dressed up in his little OU onesie and matching booties. I think his daddy was a little jealous so he bought him a bunch of Ohio State gear too. Unfortunately it's all too big for him so he will have to wait a few months to root for daddy's team. (maybe by the time they fit, OSU will be looking better)

Until then, Here's my little guy all ready to root on the Sooners...

Momma's little sooner man...

A break during half time to watch Papa's team, Roll Tide!

I'd say football Saturdays are a success

Short Naps = Short Posts

I could write an entire book on how absolutely perfect and precious my little man is but unfortunately he’s still in the short nap phase and I am trying to sleep whenever he sleeps.  That being said, sometimes it feels like I don’t have time to shower, go to the bathroom, or brush my teeth much less write a blog. But my mother-in-law has been so helpful!  She comes over to watch the little man at a moments notice so I can shower and sometimes even nap.

Anyway, here is the long overdue post of Landry’s entrance into this world.  I was scheduled to be induced a week early on Tuesday, July 26th.  My doctor thought I looked ready so we were all set.  My parents decided to come to town Sunday night so the boys could golf Monday and mom and I could do some last minute shopping.  Well, Landry had other plans.  I woke up Monday morning about 1:30 b/c I thought I heard a weird noise.  No joke people, the noise I heard was my water breaking.  I was SO excited!!  I jumped on the bed and woke Mike up to tell him.  His response, “Shut up Aspen that’s not funny.  Go back to sleep.”  So I ran to the guest room to wake up my parents.  My mom jumped up and said she needed to shower and my dad congratulated me and then asked if he could go back to bed until mom was ready.

Well since my mom was going to be clean I wanted to as well.  So before calling the doctor I took a nice long shower, shaved my legs, and flat ironed my hair.  When I called the doctor he just laughed at me and told me to head to the hospital.  We arrived about 3:00 and I was all set up with my blood work and IVs.  The nurse came in shortly after and asked how my contractions were feeling.  They weren’t too bad yet but were coming pretty close together so they decided to go ahead and give me the epidural.  How lucky was I?  I was never in a lot of pain.

Here we are getting ready to become parents…

I was a little nervous in the weeks leading up to my delivery just about the pain or complications but I must say that fortunately I had THE EASIEST delivery ever.  Praise the Lord!  When I arrived at the hospital I was dilated at 3 cm.  By the time I got the epidural a couple of hours later I was at a 5.  The nurse brought Mike breakfast and we sat and watched TV with my parents and godmother just like a normal day.  I was feeling great so the nurse wanted to check me one more time.  All of the sudden I was dilated 9 cm and the nurse was calling the doctor! Actually she was calling the on call doctor because my doctor was out of town for the day.  Sad smile I was sad not to have my doctor there but I ended up really liking the on call doctor.  I pushed for about an hour while we watched sports center and talked about the NFL lockout and the next thing I know they are telling me to reach down and touch his head. At 11:23a.m. my little munchkin had finally arrived!!! Weighing in at 6 lbs. 13 oz. and 9 inches long besides a funky cone head he was perfect!

Welcome Landry Michael Bischoff…

Finally mommy gets to snuggle him!  I’d waited 9 months for this moment and it was SO worth the wait.  He was jus perfect and melted my heart from the first time I saw him.  When they laid him on my chest and he stretched out that little hand all I could think of was how perfect he was and that he was all mine.  I was the luckiest momma in the world!

While he had his first bath, which he loved, and was being all snuggled up they served me my favorite lunch by request, grilled cheese and french fries, yummy!!

Next came all of the visitors, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, and friends.  There were people waiting for us to hurry into the post partum room to see my baby.  I’m not going to lie, I loved seeing everyone get so excited to see him and snuggle with my baby but I really wanted to snatch him away and ask everyone to leave so I could just hold him and stare at him. Here are some of our special family and friends who visited…

Poppa held him first and then passed him to Nanna (somehow I didn’t get a picture of my mom holding him for the first time Sad smile) then to  Grandpa and Grandma

GG Cindy and Aunt Alex spent all morning waiting on him to be born.   Aunt Jessi and Erin were ready there too!

Thanks to everyone who came and visited and brought all sorts of gifts and flowers and baskets of goodies.  We are so blessed to have you as a part of our lives and now Landry’s life as well.

Here are some more pics of the rest of our time in the hospital.  We had a great stay and had some amazing nurses.  Everyone was so sweet and helpful that I was actually sad when it was time to leave.

On the morning of our discharge Mike went and bought some super cute cupcakes for the nurses.  Landry’s sweet nursery nurse, Missy, came and stamped his foot prints on all of our thank you cards to pass out with the treats.  I talked all day about getting a picture of the cards and cupcakes before we passed them out but of course I forgot.  But here are our cute cards.

Finally, on our ride home I just couldn’t help myself from snapping away at every little precious part of my baby.  I wanted to remember the way his hands, feet, ears, and toes looked on the day we took him home.  I must say, most of them turned out pretty cute.

Well it was a longer nap than I thought.  Now I get to go snuggle with my little man some more.  I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by already.  Landry will be six weeks old on Monday and his personality is beginning to shine.  He is just precious!! I’ll post more later when I have another moment to catch my breath, until then, enjoy these photos of my snuggle bug!
