Finally, with two weeks to spare, we have everything ready in Landry’s room!! It was a long process finding everything that I wanted to use in our little boy’s room. Now I can finally relax. Our bags are packed and baby’s outfits are picked out for the hospital. Here are some pictures of his room and some special things people gave us to make his room special…
First, here are the letters that I spray painted and my mom and I hot glued them to twine and hung them on little cloth covered spools. I think it turned out perfectly! Also, the little corner shelf came from an antique mall and matched the furniture just perfectly. We have lots of books and antique cars displayed on his little shelf.
Here are some other pictures of things around his room and the little shelves that Mike and my dad hung.
How cute are these little planes that Mike hung?
The little lamp and vintage cars my grandmother bought to match the room
Thanks to my friend Tamra for making this diaper wreath to hang at the hospital when Landry is born.
And finally, the glider…my in-laws so graciously gave me one of their gliders and Yomaida, Silvia, and I decided to paint it. It was quite the process. It was a billion degrees in our garage and I was hot and sweaty. We spray painted it blue and painted over it with a tan color that matched the stripes in his room. The idea was to sand down the paint so you could see a little of the blue underneath. However, because Yomaida is such an expert painter after hours of sanding you still couldn’t see the blue paint. Here are the beginnings of our madness
In the end, my mom and I added several other colors to the glider to get the perfect “distressed” look. Then we were going to recover the cushions to be a navy blue but in the end we left them the way they were. They actually match the blues in the room and I must say that I am happy with how it turned out.
Taaa daa…
Now that everything is ready we are just eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little guy! Here are just a couple more pictures of the little outfits we picked out to take to the hospital with Landry. They could potentially be picture outfits or coming home outfits. I can’t wait to dress him all up and post more pics of him!
The little shirts say Mommy Rocks and Daddy’s Rockstar. I hope they fit!
